Value of our Work-Reflecting on a cold damp Good Friday

April 22, 2011

Due to the recent deaths of photojournalists Tim Hetherington and Chris Hondros in Libya, I have had conversations with colleagues and some private conversations in my own head over "how can it be"?  We use the same tools of the trade, but they did so very much more!  I complain if I need to drive too far and they traveled half way around the world to put themselfs in "harms way".  The images I capture will slowly (or quickly) disapear when I leave this world, there's have made a mark and will reviewed, discussed and protected.

Since I did not feel very good about my photography work today, to clear my head, I spent a little time gathering up some images that help define what I do, some new, some old, some that bring memories that made my smile, some that got me to the point I am at.

My heart pours out the the families ...As my heart is still sadden by a recent loss.
