After a long wait , its here the Vernal Equinox of 2020.....

Seems like no one has noticed that March 19th 2020 is the “First Day of Spring” in the Northern Hemisphere at 11:50PM EDT. So to celebrate this Earlest Spring in 124 years , thought I would look back at the 2019-2020 Winter at Lake Beulah, Wisconsin and how Wisconsinites handle Winters .

Winter’s -Ice Fishing Spring No more standing on the Iced up Lake but more sitting on the Deck enjoying family and friends.

Alpine Valley SnowBlast Bike Race

On Saturday Febuary 9th, I had the opportunity to photograph the Alpine Valley SnowBlast Bike Race …Their first race at Alpine Valley and my first BMX Bike race on snow. Granted there were a few hicups but they were tied in with what I believe was that twice as many riders that showed then what was expected . Such a great time and I’m with this is just the first of a fun event that will happen every year for many years I know as long as I’m invited , I will hopefully go every year that I can ………….it was such great fun photographing the event even tho I wound up looking like a snowman.

Below my cover photo of rider # 156 is a slideshow of some of my favorite images captured during the race. PLEASE NOTE THE SLIDESHOW DOES NOT CONTAIN ALL IMAGES CAPTURED DURING THE RACE BUT ONES THAT CAUGHT MY EYE AS FAVORITES. TO VIEW ALL IMAGES CAPTURED , PLEASE LOCATE THE LINK BELOW THE SLIDESHOW.

First look at the Godox V1 Flash unit

When traveling to the August XFO Outdoor Wars a 10 gallon water container which I always bring with to Outdoor Wars tipped over. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize it and the spilled water seeped into a leather bag containing two Metz 64-af1 flash units and one I-pad pro destroying all three.

To replace the Metz 64-af1 unit’s , I decided to check out the Godox V1 flash unit’s . This is my first look/test of the $260.00 flash with a Nikon D5 .

This seemed to be the best image with what I believe is a tough situation Noon day sun in the background and shadows of black camera’s in the foreground. Goal being bring out clouds and detail of black camera’s in camera as these files are “out of c…

First look at the Godox V1 is very encouraging that this was a very good fit for me .
