Polish Museum of America welcomes Andrzej Fonfara

Today on St. Nicholas Day , at The Polish Museum of America located at Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago, the Chicago Polish community honored and welcomed the Andrzej "The Polish Prince" Fonfara. Andrzej, the Chicago professional boxer who will be fighting at the 8 Count Production Windy City Fight Night #20 at UIC Pavillion on December 16th is and has been a Chicago hometown favorite ...It was nice to see him get some well deserved praise from the Chicago Boxing community and of course, the Polish Community.

Some of the last shots of Andrzej, are in a special exhibit room of Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) ..Do your self a favorite and check out this fine Chicago museum celebrating the Polish community, it will be well worth the trip down Milwaukee Avenue.

Bobby Hitz's Fight Night at The Belvedere Bash

Wednesday November 23rd                                Belvedere Banquet Ballroom , Elk Grove Village

I am told that back in the day , it was a Thanksgiving tradition for Bobby  to have "fight night" on Thanksgiving Eve ...Well , from what I saw tonight the tradition is back , I have already mark my calendar to hold for Bobby's fight night for next Thankgivings Eve ...Matter of fact , I think he should start doing a show on New Years Eve , that would be amazing ..Thanks Bobby, The VIP Table food looked awesome (OK , I was working but the people were looking like it was a fine dining experience) the fights were .....Well what the Hitz Team always put together, Chicago Boxing at it's best ! The Venue , well as some of you know , I been to a few Boxing Matches over the years (OK , sometimes I think way to many) The Belvedere Ballroom ...What can I say, I love it, no parking charges, so clean and upscale , what's not to like ? Bar next door is very cool...

Thankgiving Eve "Belvedere Bash" Weight-In

Tonight the "weight-In's" for Bobby Hitz's Belvedere Bash took place in Elk Grove Village.  Chicago's own favorite fighters such as Mike "Hollywood" Jimenez, Gerald Taylor and making his pro debut Erick Correa .

Battleware Technology ....

Yes, I enjoy shooting the sporting events and yes, I enjoy the calendar Photo sessions but ...I may not always get the "hit shot" I want but I always get fair fight images and I always said when you are working with beautiful people as long as you nail the exposure , it's going to be a somewhat fair image.

Monday's photo session for Battleware Technology at the ITOA ( Illinois Tactical Officers Association) has me feeling really good about my choosen career.  As Commercial Photographers we don't always get to choose our subjects , ones that look interestering to our eyes but need to follow what our clients needs.  It's our job to make everything look interesting and thanks to the people at College of Dupage years ago (I am sure someone could have "shot" better) but I feel pretty darn good about the images captured in a small hotel room with a little table setup...Thanks Miles, Terry and everyone else at COD for your guidance years ago.

Check out the good people at Battleware Technology's facebook page , they will be working on a 2012 calendar that will be something special and you can vote on the pick for the month. Not all of us need Body Armor and weapons but all of us need the Battleware's customers, police and military tactical units to be prepared.

So many times I have said I am so very lucky to meet such great people when I am working and once again, today I have to repeat that.  Today I got to meet Dan Lardy's XFO X-treme Girls and they were amazing ...fun to work with ..everyone of the ladies beutiful ..Thank you Ladies for making my job so easy , all of you were great.

John O'Sullivan Fund Raiser

Thursday found me mingling (well actually, photographing) with the "movers and shakers" of Chicago Politics.  Not only the heavy hitters of Chicago Politics and but also the heavy hitters of the South Side Boxing Amateurs ...and some guy from Bean Town , Dicky Eklund ....

Of course, I am joking , what a treat to see "The Pride of Lowell" back in the ring taking on some of the South Side amateur's.

Just another muddy day at the 5K (Monster Dash)

October 22nd , 2011              Badlandz, Crete, Illinois

I have said it before and hopefully I will say it again.  I am so very lucky to have a job that takes me to sometimes unusual and usually fun places.  Today was no exception as Deb and I were able to be at the "Monster Dash"  5K fun (but there was some serious runners out there today) run brought to us by the fine folks at "Puddle of Fun Events"... What can I say, the weather was perfect, the course amazing and a good time was had by all , including Deb and myself.
