Even though I love the 'fight game" , there's some real challenges to photographing "Action Water Sports" that pushes the photographer to deal with speed, water, sun, good lighting , bad lighting and not losing thousands of dollars worth of photog gear in the water that the Fight Game doesn't present. God bless the so called "hobbyists/Pro photog" that shows up atregatta's with a point and shoot camera with 50MM 4.0 lens or a I-pad to capture the action from the land or water vehicle who has no idea of aperture , shutter speed and depth of field.
